Last Sunday, a group of our employees braved the Tour de Moor 2023, a charity mountain bike ride in aid of St Luke’s Hospice. The route included the dreaded widow maker, which climbs 200m over 4km. Thankfully, the weather held out, and the riders got a lovely sunny day! Everyone in the team seemed to have a wonderful time and enjoyed the atmosphere. Some highlight photos are below.
Mark, one of our Equipment Team Leaders, spearheaded the group from Plessey, riding with his dog Bella in the front. When we asked for his feelings on the event, he said, “What an excellent day. Weather ace and over 1000 riders taking part to raise money for our local St Luke’s Hospice – many with their own personal reasons for helping this charity, including me who lost my dad to pancreatic cancer 15 years ago. He was given wonderful domiciliary care from this charity. The route was as per usual super-hilly and Bella enjoyed her third consecutive year doing this event – and brought a smile to all those many riders we passed 😊”
Congrats to all the riders! If you’d like to donate, please click here.
